Sunplus Selects Synopsys as Its Primary EDA Partner

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., Sept. 15 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Synopsys, Inc. (NASDAQ: SNPS), a world leader in software and IP for semiconductor design, verification and manufacturing, today announced that Sunplus Technology Co., Ltd, a leading provider of advanced IC solutions for home entertainment applications, has signed an expanded business agreement to establish Synopsys as its primary EDA partner. Under the new multi-year agreement, Sunplus has consolidated on Synopsys' Galaxy™ Implementation and Discovery™ Verification Platforms for their chip development and design flows, and has extended their use of Synopsys DesignWare® IP.

With this expanded agreement, Sunplus has chosen products across Synopsys' broad portfolio, including the Galaxy Implementation Platform's IC Compiler place-and-route technology, Design Compiler® Ultra synthesis, Formality® power-aware equivalence checking, DFT Compiler, PrimeTime® SI signal integrity analysis, PrimeTime PX power analysis, StarRC™ parasitic extraction, DFTMAX™ compression, TetraMAX® automatic test pattern generation and TetraMAX DSMTest; the Discovery Verification Platform's VCS® and HSPICE® simulators for analog and digital verification; and DesignWare Library's portfolio of synthesizable and verification IP.
